Dead Island Riptide Review

Riptide immediately follows the story of the first game, with the four immune protagonists (Logan, Purna, Xian Mei and Sam B), landing on a military base in the middle of the sea, after escaping from the horrors experienced in Banoi. The moment they land, they are guarded by Colonel Sam Hardy and Frank Serpo, a VIP civilian.. They are all locked in a bedroom, where they meet John Morgan (the new protagonist), who is also immune to infection. Morgan was locked up by Serpo after he demanded that he stop the military evacuation.

After waking up after the sedatives that were injected to examine them, the survivors escape, after Colonel Hardy opened all the chambers due to an attack on the ship. Frank Serpo manages to escape just before the out-of-control ship crashes into a large rock.
The protagonists are found by Harlow, a WHO researcher , on the shore of the island of Palanai, who tells them that the zombie infection had spread. After saving some survivors from the island.

Dead Island Riptide: They find Colonel Sam Hardy again, who tells them that Serpo is trying to control the Kuru that caused the infection and, as in Banoi, a nuclear attack on Palanai is planned to stop the infection and cover up evidence.
As Hardy suggests, the survivors travel to the town of Henderson in the hope that the army will offer help. With no intact bridges or work boats, the survivors decide to investigate an underground tunnel to reach a dock.

There they meet Dr. Kessler, who tells the immune system that he believes the mutation of the virus was caused by exposure to chemical weapons. Kessler cautions that these are found in the tunnels, and that they could act as a mutagen, transforming the virus in immune bodies into something they cannot suppress.
