Shadow Complex is a platform game developed by Chair Entertainment with Epic Games and published by Microsoft Game Studios for Xbox Live Arcade . The game engine uses Unreal Engine 3 . Cliff Bleszinski , design consultant at Epic Games for Shadow Complex , said during the presentation at E3 2009 that the game would be based on the novel by Orson Scott Card , Empire , and assequel tobook fit Hidden Empire , to be published in late 2009.

The game script is written by Peter David , writer of several comic and novelist Star Trek .

Shadow Complex is presented in a format of 2.5 – dimensional, ie, the environment is recreated in 3D , but the character can only move in two dimensions, thus playing a game similar to the classic side-scrolling environment.
