Shadow Ops: Red Mercury is a video game from 2004, which is available for the Xbox and Microsoft Windows . The version for Xbox on June 15, 2004 was released to the United States on June 18, 2004 a version was released for areas where PAL is used system. The version for the PC was released in the United States on September 21 2004, and on October 1, 2004 a version was released for areas where PAL is used system.
The player takes the role of Frank Hayden, an elite soldier of the Delta Force. The first mission begins with the moment when Frank and other elite soldiers make an attempt to get a nuclear weapon, which is in a small briefcase and has the name “Red Mercury”, to safety. The bomb is in the hands of a terrorist, called “Vladi the Vicious,” which uses a Syrian coastal city as a base. Once the elite troops have reached the town, the mission is compromised when the helicopter in which the soldiers are in, is brought down. Some soldiers, including Frank know in time to get out of the helicopter before it crashes. The soldiers must then find the location where the helicopter crashed, and this secure before they get to go back behind Vladi, who is trying to escape in the meantime. After fierce street battles with Syrian terrorists,T-62 tank, Frank runs for his team in an attempt to thwart Vladi’s escape. However, it is too late, and Vladi manages to escape in a helicopter. Frank fires on the helicopter and damaged it, but can not prevent Vladi escaped. He therefore calls for reinforcements to lower the helicopter pick, because the bomb is still intact and Vladi still has control over.
The next scene takes place in the damaged helicopter, now flying over the ocean. The pilot has difficulty controlling the device. Vladi sits back and opens the suitcase with the nuclear weapon, in order to dismantle the weapon. At first it seems like it works: the device’s clock is off. But almost immediately after the weapon is activated, then Vladi jumps out of the helicopter in a desperate and unsuccessful attempt to escape the blast. The bomb explodes, the helicopter and Vladi completely dissolve, and the shock wave also hit the aircraft carrier where Frank and his team came from. The force of the blast capsizes the ship, making people, helicopters and fighter jets fall off. The scene that follows is playing in town down, where Frank and his team are waiting to be picked up. The shock wave also reaches the city and the scene ends with the moment Frank is thrown backwards
The subsequent scenes and missions are off 72 hours earlier. Frank and his team have their way through the Congo jungle paths to find a cargo plane that was shot down by local guerrillas. After searching frantically, she found him in an old church. He was held at gunpoint by a terrorist. However, they are too late. In a hospital, they take the lifeless body of the scientist, and the area is undermined with explosives. Vladi, who is now in possession of two bombs, fleeing the area via a cargo ship, where Frank and Navy SEALs to be dropped. Once it is clear that the ship goes to Syria, the soldiers manage to float Vladi in a corner. However, he manages to escape via a helicopter on board and let the ship sink, explosive, and with Frank Seals still aboard. They also know to escape via helicopter, controlled by Kate after a call from Hayden. The bomb is now located in Syria.
When Frank and his team of Delta Force soldiers entered the city fly, Frank realizes Vladi will probably expect the attack, so he instructed the pilot to change course and come from a direction Vladi not expected. Frank can catch the bomb, and realizes that time is running out. At that time, Galena will help him and dismantle the bomb, which still will explode, albeit without nuclear power. Frank picks up the suitcase and throw it in the helicopter and think it’s over it.
